Gene Talerico
Attorney
Gene Talerico, Esq., is a seasoned legal professional who collaborates closely with Comerford Law, contributing invaluable expertise to a wide range of legal endeavors. In addition to serving as General Counsel for Contractor Transport, LLC, and SCE Environmental Group, Inc., Gene is a key member of Comerford Law’s extended legal team.
Gene is not only the owner of the Law Offices of Gene Talerico, Esq., LLC, based in Old Forge, PA, but also holds the unique distinction of being the First Assistant District Attorney for the Lackawanna County District Attorney’s Office for an impressive 16 years until March 2016. During this tenure, he also served as a Special Assistant United States Attorney in the Middle District of PA and achieved the position of Chief Prosecutor in the Child Abuse/Sexual Assault Unit.
A proud alum of the University of Scranton, Gene holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science/History (1989). He later pursued his Juris Doctorate at Widener University School of Law (1992), where his achievements included receiving the American Jurisprudence Award in Evidence and assuming crucial roles in various legal associations.
Gene’s legal expertise extends across diverse areas, including Criminal Law, Civil Rights, and Personal Injury. Admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, United States District Courts, and the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit, his impact on the legal community is far-reaching.
Community Involvement and Awards:
Gene’s commitment to community service is commendable. He has been a President and Treasurer of Marley’s Mission, Inc., a non-profit providing equine-assisted psychotherapy to traumatized children. His dedication has earned him accolades such as the “Volunteer of the Year” for the Eastern Region of the United States and the Child Advocate Award from the Children’s Advocacy Center of NEPA.
From serving as a Right to Know Law Officer to overseeing various grant programs related to victims’ services and central booking/intake units, Gene has demonstrated his commitment to effective legal processes. His vast experience in the legal field is further enriched by his contributions as a published author and involvement in multiple committees and organizations.
Outside the courtroom, Gene actively engages in coaching various youth sports teams and contributing to community initiatives. His dedication to enhancing legal practices, advocating for victims, and promoting community well-being stands as a testament to his multifaceted contributions.
